I would look in Town & Country, Oldsmar area quick jump on Eisenhower to airport. Westshore would be convenient too.

Depends what you are looking for and how much you can afford. South Tampa, Carrollwood, Town n Country.

Rather than Town and Country area , I would look in Oldsmar. Much quieter and better place to live than T/C area.

I would suggest finding a place along Westshore Blvd. Some of the apartments in the area are pretty trendy. It'll run you about $1000 a month for a two bedroom on average.

Traffic on Westhore Blvd. going north towards TPA is really not that bad. Just go north towards International Plaza on Westshore Blvd. Then you make a left on Boyscout / Columbus and you're just 5 minutes away from TPA.

In the morning, traffic on Westshore is mostly flowing south towards Kennedy Blvd. It's the same thing during the evening rush hour, but it eases up after you are past Kennedy Blvd.

I live on Westshore south of Gandy and it takes me about 25 minutes to get to the airport. So my thoughts would be anywhere down Westshore would suit your needs. The only real issue that I have come across is that south of Gandy is really heading into the 'luxury condo' mode. They are overpriced, and are having a harder time selling units. BUT because they look nice...my apartment complex tried to raise my rent up to $689 a month for a studio apt. Grrr....

I would say if you are looking into apartments, check back with them often. Most complexes update the value of their units daily. So what might cost you a grand today...may only cost 850 tomorrow. (and vise versa)

Good Luck!

We have a daughter who is more than a frequent flyer and it takes us 20 minutes from Palm Harbor(about 30 min. during rush) along Tampa Rd/Hillsbourough. to Memorial parkway. There are some very nice looking complexes from Oldsmar down to Westchase and then over to Sweetwater. Of course, thanks to CRS, I can't think of any names right now.

I pass that route everyday Tampa Rd/West Hillsborough during rush hour and it does not take 20min. The worst stretch is on W Hills around the Wal mart/Publix Plaza to the Vet. That alone can take 20 minutes at times in the morning. Worst time is 7:45-830am. If you want a commute that is quick and painless then look in the westshore area.

Consider St. Pete. It is an easy trip across the bay on I-275 right to the airport. There are several apartments and condos that are within 20 minutes. I used to rent in St Pete and often caught flights out of Tampa. It's a great airport by the way. There is currently road construction around it which will cause problems occasionally until its finished.

If you want to relocate in Lutz or Land O' Lakes, SR 589 would probably be the best.
