We just bought a home in Dunedin, FL and will be moving in November. I am trying to get my arms around the costs that will be involved when it comes to installing a pool approx. 15ft x 30ft and a enclosure approx. 30ft x 60ft. I know that there are a lot of variables such as a summer kitchen (which I will also want) but I need a ballpark number for a starting point on this project. Anyone out there who may have recently gone through the process and might not mind sharing their experience?

Back in 2003 we had a pool installed by Anthony&Sylvan. 12x26, pebble-tec finish and 26x32 enclosure. This cost $25k. With the increase in materials and inflation I would say your looking around the $35k mark if it's not too fancy.

Westcoast Brit,

Any regrets about installing a pool?

Not until I got my property tax bill. Went up about $1100.

Wow - the cost of maintaining, the utilities, and the yearly tax bill. Not sure I'll need to have a pool as bad as I thought. Thanks for the info.

Curious if you're still intent on putting in a pool.
