I always wondered why Ft. Lauderdale was mentioned by Motley Crue in this song instead of Tampa. You know Nikki Sixx must have OD'ed at least once in the bathroom of some Tampa/St. Pete nudie bar back in the '80s.

Because south Florida is known for partying and Tampa is known for old folks.

People who don`t live in Florida will equate Tampa/St Pete with old people.

Tampa just has a lot of porno stores and strip bars. Ft. Lauderdale actually FEELS like a porno flick in many spots before you even step into a strip club.

Yea, all the neon lights, motels, trailer parks... The funny thing about Ft. Lauderdale is that their zoning doesn't stop XXX stores from popping up in the most prominent places, like the big A-frame adult store between highway 84 and 17th street on US-1. There are just tons of porn stores up there period.

On the flip side, the only other places you can really find porn are Hollywood or Sunrise, so Loddy Doddy picks up all of the business. They do a lot of internet filming around there too. Well, Oakland Park is actually the worst but it's right in the same area.

Oh, and there is more than one adult video store between 84 and 17th street on US1, lol. Right next to some upscale restaurant or shop in Ft. Lauderdale you will inevitably see the neon sign "XXX PORN!". It's really ridiculous. Even Las Olas has a fetish shop.

However, in Tampa it seemed like you could even find quite a few porno stores and strip clubs in some of the nicer suburbs. Here, you can't even build a McDonalds sign in most of the suburbs because of the zoning.
