You should check with the local Housing Authority. They will have a list of properties that are subsidized or that accept vouchers.

You can search directly on the Tampa Housing Authority website at Welcome to Tampa Housing Authority. Hope this helps!

Stay away from Bayou Crossings (major crime issues) & Mariners Cove (Bad part of town and bad plumbing, major crime issues-a few yrs. ago the security officer was held at knife point and kidnapped to unload at numerous ATM's in the area).

Try Lake Kathy (about 1 yr. old), Brandon Crossings (well maintained), Westchester (I have heard good things about), Woodberry Woods (remodeled a couple of yrs. ago), and Windermere (I know people that live there and like it). Now take it with a grain of salt, but there are good people and bad people just as much as another other non-tax credit property.

Oh, and an actual house is more than likely impossible around here. It'll have to be in a tax-credit property.

Won't her voucher work for a privately owned property that's passed the Section 8 inspection? I know several investors that have Section 8 qualified properties...(but none in Brandon or Valrico).

Yes, if they accept it (and as you have mentioned passed the inspection), but I don't know of any in this area that does-home wise atleast. Apartments, yes.
