Tough question. I remember when I first moved here, we were going to the Columbia in Ybor with the boss. Since I'd never been, I called and the host said to wear my finest. We went with business attire and wound up sitting across from a guy in shorts and flops. Even fine dining restaurants won't turn away patrons in casual attire (I guess that's just laid-back Florida style). The "dressiest" I've seen is business attire at CKs, The Palm, Armani's, Berns, Flemings & Roys along with most of the restaurants at 4 star rated hotels.

I hope the OP writes back about their evening out!

I would think most places on the beach would be pretty casual too.

I hope she checks back in and lets us know where she went..
