Stay east of Highland as well. Dunedin is wonderful!

East of Highland where? Or are you talking about Highland Ave. in Clearwater (which is Patricia Ave. in Dunedin, and actually features some really lovely neighborhoods to the west)? Highland in Dunedin is a different street altogether, which makes things confusing to people who don't know the area well.

Dunedin is a great little community, the downtown area is small town home feeling, they do alot of downtown functions, art shows, xmas programs, farmers market, etc. great restaurants, stay north of sunset point rd. you will be fine.

Default Just moved to Dunedin

In all honesty....have been here six days. It is a nice town where everyone is friendly BUT THE TRAFFIC SUCKS. I can't believe the traffic, speeding, accidents. Everyone is in a hurry....but why? My Allstate Ins. rates are higher here...and I came from NM where it was high due to DWIs.

I think I moved into a home with hidden mold.

Went to marina and downtown for homemade ice cream yesterday...almost got hit by a car while in crosswalk. Hope to write later and say I made the right move.

Default And another thing!

The day I drove into Dunedin, I went immediately to the police station and asked what areas to stay out of and not rent. I was told by two officers at the front desk that all area of Dunedin are safe. Area around sadium is lower income I was told but safe.

Dunedin isn't bad, and Clearwater only gets bad the closer to St. Petersburg you get. I work all over Tampa Bay, from Dunellon to Naples, and I can safely say St. Petersburg is one of my least favorite places. Dunedin is highly enjoyable, especially on the bay side that runs along Alt. 19. Moving to Florida was probably not for me, but I won't say that the area sucks, or isn't safe. Then again, I live in Palm Harbor, which is pretty secure.

Hello from Palm Harbor:
I live in neighboring Palm Harbor and I own a condo in Dunedin. I have seasonal renters who return every year because of the proximity to the beaches, Pinellas Trail, and quaint downtown. The Pinellas trail runs the length of the county so you can walk, run, bike, or rollerblade for hours. Dunedin is mostly eclectic and the downtown hosts a number of arts/crafts fairs. Let me know if you have more questions about it.

Welcome to Pinellas County. Just wait until spring break rolls around.

Cool Life in Dunedin, Fl

My wife and I have lived here for two years and have a son who goes to Dunedin schools. We love it here! Great place to walk or ride a bike (especially along Edgewater) and lots to do. We find something new to do all the time and every time we think we've seen and done it all something else new shows up! Don't regret the move from the Midwest one bit. Job market is much tougher and the traffic can be frustrating, but EVERYTHING else is so much nicer than living up north. It's paradise by most normal people's standards....

Scotland Street is wonderful! If I were wealthy, I'd buy a place there. But most of the houses west of, say, Orange Ave. are heritage homes, with very expensive upkeep. I love riding my bike along this street.

To the OP, you would be wise to pick a couple of alternatives and visit them before you settle on Dunedin. We chose Dunedin, after considering Sarasota as an alternative. I have a friend who recently bought on Madeira Beach--she wanted the beach right there, and wouldn't settle for less. But we love Dunedin.
