That's nice. I've been at the last two World Series festivities, and can tell you for certain that this stuff happens everywhere. It was actually pretty tame by the time I left at 2 AM.

I'm pretty sure ST Pete/TB wouldn't have needed riot police to man the streets had the Rays won.

Probably because no one would be aware they won the World Series.

WOW! Like watching animals escaped from a zoo....unreal...

I remember when Tampa Bay won the superbowl, we were wathcing in Hyde Park district and South Howard Ave was packed with people, cars beeping horns, all the bars and restaurants packed with people enjoying the celebration; and again when Tampa Bay won the Stanley Cup, 7th Avenue in Ybor City district was at least 80,000 people thick,...but it was never like what is seen in those videos(no vandelism, riots, fires, fights, etc)..., why would people behave like animals like that...there is having a good time and celebrating, and then there is just being a disgrace....

Most of the rioters were young college students who probably don't live in the neighborhoods they damaged. For the life of me I don't understand why a person can't express happiness without trying to flip over a vehicle. I think the media should accept some of the responsibilty of nonsense that took place Wednesday night. Most of them are already on an alcohol rush so stop aiming the camera at them and getting them all fired up.

Sorry, but when Tampa is a legitimate city, you have a right to comment. For any major city, this is what happens. I, a college student was there with plenty of my friends, and outside of one, we didn't partake in the 'destruction'. Most didn't. Oh, and 80,000? LOLOLOLOLOLOL we have 80,000 to celebrate regular season victories...

Yes, when you go tot a Bobcats game or a Hawks game, the fans their pull for THEIR team, unlike most of pro sports teams in the NFL. Ever been to a Dolphins game? Or a Magic game? Or a Heat vs Knicks game? How about a Bucs vs. Giants? Or a Jags vs Steelers? At these games, who has the homefield advantage? It's pretty close. But it's not the case in the ATL or the CLT. I like that.
