Hi All... Coming to Tampa area soon and I need SAFE hotel/motel info for brief stay. I have a few places of where to avoid already and want to know if anyone knows of any nice, reasonable, SAFE (most important )area to stay in. Can be within 1/2 hour drive of Tampa. I know what it's like in the city having lived in NYC and North & Central NJ. I'm looking for advice from people who have actually stayed in the hotel or motel itself. Thanks for all who post.

I have friends and family that have stayed in many hotels throughout the Tampa area, all I would consider safe that I recommended. Can you be a little more specific(where you want to be, how long you will be here, amenities you look for, is price a factor, etc.)

Try this hotel:
Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay
2900 Bayport Drive,
Tampa, Florida, USA 33607
Tampa Bay Hotel Resorts, Florida Luxury Accommodations & Rooms - Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay
Tel: +1 813 874 1234 Fax: +1 813 207 6790

My fiance's company hosts a wonderful Christmas party there every year and a lot of his co-workers stay there (since they provide an open bar) and enjoy themselves. It is a lovely hotel.

We'll be near Town N' Country, Hillsborough Ave..Are you familiar with that area? We'll only be there about 4 days, want a safe quiet area no more than $120.00 a night. 2 non smoking adults. CLEAN A MUST!!! No Red Roof Inns, I seen enough of that place! Thanks for the fast reply

Thanks but they are really too expensive, starting at $250.00 a night in December.

Have you looked at the reviews on Trip Advisor or a Hotels website? I never stay anyplace without checking those. They haven't steered me wrong yet!

This website has a lot of residents who don't really stay in hotels/motels in town.

I second the tripadvisor advice...in Oldsmar there is a Residence Inn and Courtyard by Marriott Hotels, about 10 min from the area you will be visiting. ABout 25 min to downtown Tampa, even closer to the beaches of Clearwater or Dunedin area.

There is Mainsail right on Hillsborough next to Veterans. There is also
Extended Stay Deluxe on Memorial Hwy.

Do a search using zip code 33615. There are also a few on Courtney Campbell Causeway that is in the area.

I am looking into staying at an Extended Stay in Brandon. Does anyone have some information on the area? I will be there almost the whole month of January. Cheers!
