Aloha,

I'm considering transferring to the University of Tampa. I've had some great replies on living in Tampa. Now, I was wondering if anybody had any thoughts about UT. I'm a marine biology major. I've heard that program is really good at UT, but I obviously haven't experienced it. Any thoughts? Mahalo!

UT is the rich kid college of Tampa. I went there for two semesters before transfering to USF. About 95% of the students are from out-of-state (mostly the northeast).

The campus is small and really pretty but the students are not very bright.

I worked with someone who graduated from UT and he was not a rich kid from the NE. He got his degree in MIS. He got a job right after graduating with the company.

Wahine-

Seems like U of H would be your best university for marine biology. I would never trade Hawaii for Florida - and I've live in both states for awhile.

Good luck.

Generally Speaking....UT is known to be mostly rich kids from the northeast looking to party in florida for a few years....its a private school so its more expensive than say USF...if u come and apply yourself you can both have fun and get an education...not sure what the local job market is for marine biology...good luck

UT is mostly a rich kid school. I went there for two semesters with kids were driving brand new luxury cars and never worked a day in their life.

The school has a nice business college but I couldn't stand those brats.

I grew up in Tampa and my opinion of Tampa U was that it was just a bunch of rich kids from up North. I ended up getting my second bachelor's from Tampa U and I had a good experience with it. The campus is easy to get in and out of and the business school is very nice. I found the students to be friendly for the most part and the teachers were good for the most part. I was also suprised that there are so many good looking women that go there. Wow!!
