I am planning on taking a trip back west next year to Moab, Grand Junction, and Arizona/Flagstaff for a serious mountain bike excursion. That's where the true riding is- I can't wait.

Check my MTB video out on UTube (I just got back!)

YouTube - XC Mountain Trail Biking MTB North America 2008 - RISSLING

Moab - Slickrock and Porcupine were way to technical for me to hold a camera, but I did write about these and more under my website blogs (photos included).

If you get out to Bryce Canyon area in Utah - I had an epic experience at Thunder Ridge in Red Canyon (just West of Bryce). Probably one of the most fun rides of my life:

...and yeah....I used to live in Arizona (what am I doing here in Florida - YARG!)

Peace On.

Ha, which end have you been riding. I'll agree the St. Pete end is not too good, but the other end has some nice spots. I mean, if you're a roadie, it beats getting run over on the road.

Santos in Belleview/Ocala area is some of the best single track in the state though. At least, it was when I was really into mountain biking several years ago. Well worth the day trip.

Santos really is pretty nice. The great thing about Santos is the freeride area called "Vortex". They have some crazy jumps, some practice bridges and ramps, and some downright insane drops. The rest of the trails are pretty nice. Santos has more "easy" trails though compared to Alafia. I think that Alafia is more technical for the most part-there are more tracks that offer a challenge to the advanced rider than Santos.
Have fun out there Dan, and post up some pics when you get done!

What kind of helmet cam setup are you using? I have the GoPro helmet cam, and it's not too bad for biking. It sucks for jetskiing; the mounts aren't strong enough to stay fixed when the water hits 'em...

Yes, I would recommend it too!
