I have an infected toe and need to be seen by a doctor, but I have no insurance. Can someone tell me where I can find a doctor that will see me under those conditions without charging me a fortune in the Tampa Florida area?

Did you try the walk in clinics? They aren't cheap but they usually charge less than a normal office visit. I know there is one on MLK near St. Joe's.

I'm sorry to hear about your toe. I had a slew of ingrown toenails when I was younger and it wasn't fun.

Anyway, I have been reading Ron Paul's book, and he talks about a doctor who spoke before congress about his clinic. He doesn't accept medicare or any other insurance, and as a result he is able to offer his services very inexpensively- like an office visit for $35. HMO's, medicare, etc. basically hold doctors captive and drive up prices. This doctor is able to discuss care directly with his patients, instead of having an HMO decide the appropriate care.

So, I would look for a cash-only clinic. A quick google produced this result,
Doctor Riscile I'm sure there are others but the concept sounds enticing. Good luck.

AvantGarde Urgent Care located on 5112 N. Habana Ave Tampa, FL 33614 is very affordable office visit started at $95 and they worked with a payment plan since I didnt have enough. It is convenient you do not need appointment and are open until 8PM including weekends. I went On christmas, they are open all major holidays too. And before they treat or do anything that will cost more they let you know the exact price. Hope this helps! -813-801-9111 is their number.
