We got married at Sand Key Park. I don't remember what the hotel was that we stayed at, but I think it's changed names now anyway. It was 2 down from Sheppards. Might be a holiday inn now. It was a really nice hotel and the they had a nice discount for blocks of 10 or more rooms. I'll ask my wife what it was called then. If you haven't already, you should check the forums at Wedding Dresses - Wedding Cakes - Wedding Planning - Unique Wedding Ideas. My wife used it a LOT when planning ours.

I was in Pass-A-Grille a couple of weekends ago and saw the precession heading out to the beach - much less populated/touristy. I thought that was kind of nice area for such an event.

A few ideas depending on your budget. I have been to Sand Key for several weddings, it is very beautiful and the most economical option. The Sheraton Sand Key is right there. If you are looking for more of a resort environment, I know many people who have been married on St Pete Beach at the Trade Winds Resort. For a truely upscale wedding location check out Don Ceasar on St. Pete Beach or the Vinoy(in downtown St. Pete) There is also the floating chapel which looks kinda cool and moves around the Bay area. Good luck

Sand Key is a beautiful location. If you need a photographer talk to Nick from Cool Change Photography. He's a great guy who specializes in beach wedding photography... did a great job for us and was very helpful.

My friend had a quiet small and intimate wedding at Indian Rocks Beach, officiated by priest at Indian Rocks Episcopalian church. Several of the local yacht clubs would probably do this too, with spec water views. Depending on what time of year, there are a lot of choices. My feeling is with beach weddings, is to keep it intimate and special, casual and memorable. Again time of year will dictate, but you can organise maybe even a private beach home to do this in - some homes are available for rent. What are you numbers like? I think if its small you can do this yourself, I am sure friends will help. Its the sort of thing I would love ! good luck to you both.
