Excuse my ignorance as I havent been to Tampa yet. I guessing the downtown area is between I-275 and 618 and Hillsborough river. I am correct in my guessing? If I am right which is the main street and where do we find the most going on?

Downtown is pretty dead at night. Ybor has a lot more going on at night. There are some good cuban restaurants and if you want fancy there is The Columbian.

Check out Tampaguy03's post here.. he is our resident guru on S. Tampa/ downtown areas.

Tampa Downtown Partnership - Elevating The Potential

Downtown Tampa proper sits on a Peninsula bordered by the Hillsborough River on ther West, Sedon Channel(and Harbour Island) to the south, Ybor Channel(and Ybor City) to the East, and I-275 to the north.

I hope this helps.
