Wow, there's nothing like city data forum. Great thanks to all for very informative info on all the different areas, neighborhoods surrounding Tampa. Just from this site Moderator cut: website it's just an incredible site to find what you're looking for. More real estate sites should model after that one. So based on the both sites when I visit Tampa, I'm looking at the East Lake area, Safety Harbor, Dunedin and South Tampa. South Tampa is in the lead. My concern are the flooding hits I'm getting on this site. Also that Pinnellas trail is amazing. We have someting like that in Philly that goes about 40 miles along the river into the city from the northern burbs. I'm gonna check out the county site and see if they have software that will show the the property address and if in fact if it's in a flood zone. I guess my dream home would be in one of these areas, single family home ( 1 level) , on the golf course,pool/lanai 3brm/3 baths over 2500 sq ft and built after 1995 and listed price under $600,000 work for us. I'm 43, wife 36, no kids. We're really looking forward to visiting this great city. Right now we live in our condo on Hilton Head Island, SC. Living in Philly for years, watching the Phils play in Clearwater and soon being able to watch them in Clearwater sort of blows my mind. So if anyone knows a site that shows property flood zones and any other recommendations based on my criteria are all welcomed. Any Sr DBA opportunites would be a plus even in this tough economy.

Updating Flood Maps
Upper left to enter the address and it will bring up the flood map. They are still having meetings on adopting the FEMA and FIRM maps for 2009 though.
