Ask Miami Cubans... Some are for and against. I see that more Americans would go there than anything. Doubt there would be a mass Cuban exodus. I was married to a Cuban woman. Hot but totally nuts...

That's funny. Yeah, I have nothing against Cubans, after all, that is all I used to date while I lived in Miami and the Keys-to have them visit is cool-tourism is good, but to have them move here is another issue. We already are struggling, I think it would make everything more difficult. My thing is, the people in Cuba don't really have a lot of money for traveling and such, so there may not be as much tourism from there as people think. I think it would be the families living in the USA who would bring them here for a visit. It's ashamed their government is the way it is. People shouldn't be treated like that.

If Cuba opened up how would it change Tampa. All the other times mass migration came from Cuba Tampa didn't change one bit. The only time Tampa got Cubans was before the railroad came to Miami.Cubans always go to Miami because they won't have to learn english(espicially the older cubans) and still live in the U.S. They would rather move up the east coast like Ft. lauderdale or West Palm then move across the state. As for the tourism to Cuba I've been fortunate to go to that island twice and just about everyother island except Hispanola in the Caribbean. It was easy and by far the most beautiful of them all. It has what every other island has but bigger. Everybody will end up goin to Cuba instead of Cancun or Jamaica. Cruise ship will make to one stop for everything. Just like Cuba was before Fidel.

Before Fidel Cuba was basically an American wh@rehouse run by the mafia. Let's not glamorize it too much.

No ones ever herd of Cancun or Aruba before the 1950 and we all know why. I've been fortunate enough to travel to just about every Caribbean country(Mexico, Caiyman Islands, Jamaica, St. Thomas, Puerto Rico, Bahamas and Cuba). By far my favorite was Cuba because it had everything all the other places had to offer but bigger.
