I am looking for a busy and fun bar/restaurant or just bar to cocktail waitress at while going to school. I have worked at several upbeat bars out of state and was hoping to find something similar while finishing up my degree. Does anyone have any suggestions???

If you are going to be on Rocky Point like your previous posts, look at Bahama Breeze or Whiskey Joes. Any of the Green Iguana's would be good(North Westshore, Anderson Road) and there subsidiaries like Hula Bay/Duke's of South Westshore and The Retreat near Univ of Tampa.

Blue Martini at Intl Plaza, The Kennedy, MacDintons over in Hyde Park....

Just a few suggestions...

Thank you sooo much!! I was wanting to have a good number of restaurants that I could go and interview at while I was down there. One question for you, are any of the ones you mentioned seasonal? Im trying to avoid the seasonal bars, and find something continuous all year.

They are not seasonal, but they do get busier in season and special event times...asl all places do in the area.

I think TampaGuy hit the best spots perfectly for what you are looking for.

I especially like Hula Bay...I went there the other night after a day at the beach with my dog, expecting a laid back beach bum scene and was totally wrong! People were dressed to kill and had good energy there. All the other places he mentioned are excellent too.

You might look at the newly opened AquaKnox in Rocky Point or the swanky new spot at International Plaza, Ocean Prime (i think that's the name). They are a bit more restaurant type places, but probably pretty good gigs. There's also Wet Willie's in Channelside that just opened, but I've never been there, so I can't recommend it personally, but some of my friends have had some good times there. Otherwise, stick with the other suggestions.
