I moved into hawks landing january 2008 when they first opened the apartments and just moved out this past august. You should definitley look for other options close to the campus. Hawks landing is located in drew park, which has a really bad crime rate (lots of prostitution in the area), there are strip clubs and porn stores literally on every single corner! There was just recently another rape in the complex the end of august. There are wild crazy louddd parties almost every single night of the week, not lately though because of the rape. Because of that situation there are cops there all night every night and extra security so if it goes anything like it has in the past any parties will be shut down in the first 5 min. There have been too many fights to count, battery situations, car break ins, vandalisms of apartments and cars (i know of 4 peoples tires being slashed), lots of drugs, home invasions, armed burgleries and robberies, and there was even a situation where a guy shot at this other guy (he wasnt hit) and even though there were like 20 police cars, fire trucks, an ambulance and they had us on like a lockdown where we couldnt even leave but i never even heard about it on the news... the police are constantly in the complex. Besides the crime, they dont have enough visitor spots and will give any of your friends an extremely hard time getting in at night. The tow trucks come all the time and tow like crazy! You can also expect all types of overages on your rent each month. I would definitely suggest finding other housing close by.

Al Lopez, maybe? I'm not sure what you're referring to.

You wouldn't call Al Lopez a big park? It's a mile long and two city blocks wide.
