Absolutely not. Pretty much Hernando county NORTH I consider Southern, and maybe parts of Polk/Hardee county

"Southern" isn't an generally uneducated population that moved from the north.

A lot of people consider Florida "South of the South" but that statement only holds true for cities. I could drive 20 minutes out of tampa and find some of the most country people i have ever seen. My big redneck wedding did an episode in plant city!

It is like this in a lot of places (like Atlanta, GA). What makes Florida cities, specifically Tampa, Orlando, Ft Lauderdale, etc, seem exaggerated in this example is the amount of northern transplants living in these cities. There can sometimes almost be a northern culture. This is polarized against the extreme southerners just 20 minutes away.

I agree. If you live outside of Tampa proper and its suburbs, into areas such as Plant City and the like, you will find what (for the lack of a better word) is 'redneck.' However, in the cities, you will hardly if ever encounter that. The cities themselves are exempt (mostly) from this southern culture you all are referring to because Florida has so many transplants from all over the US...but its there if you go to North Florida or outside of the major cities. However, despite all this (and I lived in Tennessee for 2 years) Florida still doesn't compare to the deep south.

I think i read it someones post on here saying TN was the Deep South and that it ran circles around Florida as a Southern State..i had to laugh. First of all TN is known as the Upper South, and besides Memphis and some little towns in middle tennessee its either hillbilly or transplanted people from Ohio. When i lived in Nashville I never saw people eat up hockey games as much as people livin in Franklin and Nashville, everyone there seems to be tatooed on every inch of skin possible or Emos with freek colored hair...There are a few natives around and there just as discusted with the how its gotten as Native Floridans..but most of TN dont come within spittin distance of most of Florida when it comes to Deep South.

We get it, you are a native Floridian who doesn't like Northerners. Get dem dang yankees! Just remember that Northern money played and continues to play a huge role in the success of this state. You have a choice to not interact with them and I highly doubt they're flooding in the back woods where it sounds like you're from, so what's the problem? You keep the woods, and everybody else happily coexists in the urban areas.

Not gonna work for me...we want the Urban areas back too...so you'll just have to leave the entire state. I'm from the South, not as you call it the backwoods and you are obviously an interloping carpetbagger that needs to go back where you came from. And this success your talking about that yankees bring down here.....haha if my grandmother heard you she'd slap you about the face with a white glove. Go take an "Urban" stroll past the current county courthouse where the Confederate Memorial still stands ..maybe that'll put you in your place....hopefully someplace else
