My husband and I are moving to the St. Pete area in November. He is starting at St. Pete college in January for Prosthetics and Orthotics. I have no idea what the area is like. I know the Prosthetic school is near Pinellas Park and I have no clue what the area is like. Good/Bad?

We are in our early 30's with a large service dog. We are the small bar, a couple times a month to listen to jazz kind of people. We have no kids.

In Ohio we always know to look for the gay flags to find great little area's to live...is this true in St. Pete?

Anthing would help. Thanks. Go Bucks!

Are you looking to buy a house or to rent? Pinellas Park is kind of in the middle of St Pete so you could look at lots of surrounding areas and be pretty close to the school. The area close to Tyrone Mall is nice, between 66th Street and 49th Street (streets run north and south and Avenues run east and west) between 22nd Ave and 54th Ave. Also Seminole is a good place to look. Seminole is on the west end of town but is convenient to Park Blvd which runs all the way across St. Pete. Where is the school in PP? Some people will argue with this but I would try to live somewhere on the outskirts of Pinellas Park. Bay Pines, Jungle area, Tyrone, Azalea, some parts of Kenneth City are ok. Hope this helps a little?

I would not live so close to the college on Park and 66th, but there is a nice Indian Restaurant there if you like those.
Look at Seminole, Tyrone area, NE St Pete is not so far from there maybe 15 mins max, and there you will be walking to a really nice downtown, and waterfront. You dont need to worry about schooling, so I'd personally go with Old NE. If you want the beaches, look at Seminole, Indian Rocks, Indian Shores and Redington Beaches. They are nearest to Park Blvd and the bridge to the beach.

Thank you for the information. We are renting. Preferably a house with 2 bedrooms. My husband is in a wheelchair half of the time (he is an amputee so he wears prosthetics the other half) so we would like to hopefully find a ranch. I know it's a little early to try and find something to rent so maybe by September we could start looking for places.

Again, thank you for your reply.
