Hi there,

So, I got one of those flyers in the mail advertising free exam, so I went, turns out I need about $14,000 worth of work, (Thanks to my pregnancies I lost most of my molars..........................grrrrr), so here's the thing, of course we don't have that kind of money........so, how would I find a student that wants to have straight A's for the rest of his dental career thanks to fixing my teeth? is this still something done and where? my brother did this a while ago in Miami, but I can't travel there every other week for this.......

Thanks,

I am facing a huge amount of dental work myself - much more than you, in fact - a lot of major reconstructive work. Anyway, your best bet is to get one of the discount dental plans - we have Humana CompBenefits through my husband's work. But there are similar plans you can get - one is Safeguard (you can Google this, not sure if I can provide a link). Basically it is not traditional insurance - you go to one of their network providers and the services are performed at a huge discount. Not sure if there are any dental schools that will do what you are asking, usually it's determined by low-income and need.

Good luck to you!

Well we kinda are on a on low income right now.........LOLOL I wish we were not........but not much can be done to help it now.......
I am sorry you have problems too.....they make this so intangible for the middle class it's not funny....like we are supposed to live on liquids!

I will look those plans up and see if we can do it.....

Thank you,

Thank you,
Dental costs are unreal - for the amount my dentist (not on the plan) quoted me, I could have a brand new Mercedes. I am getting a second opinion from a dentist that is in the network (can't change my plan until end of this month), I am hoping I will save 1/3 to 1/2 amount quoted. We don't have this money either, I will have to take out a huge loan.

Yeah, I know...I was actually surprised when they gave me the final estimate because my other dentist in Orlando also wanted a Mercedes worth of work done!!!!!!!!

We however can't afford to take any loans as we are already maxed out for the month....with house bills........not that the dentist I went too didn't suggest that so casually.....
