Hi everyone.
My family and I are planning on moving to the Tampa Bay area in about a year and a half from now. We are presently living in Sweden. I can't wait to move. I have understood that it's hard to get a job right now. I'm a woodworker with a lot of experience doing custom work. How is the market in Florida? Are any companies hiring? Any advice on moving to Tampa and surrounding areas and make a living as a woodworker would be very much appreciated.

Look at a place called Teakdecking Systems in Sarasota. They build and install teak wooden boat decks. They pay dirt wages (which how it is in all of Florida anyway), but your experience might help. And ironically, the owner is from Sweden (even though he is a stingy JERK who denies raises to even the best employees).

Default thanks for the advice

Thank you for the advice. I will check out the place in Sarasota. What is the average wage in Florida for an experienced woodworker?

That I wouldn't know, but this area is known for lousy pay.

The Dunedin Woodwright/Ottoson Enterprises. I don't know much about their company or if they are hiring. I do know that Dunedin is a great place to live and the shop looks clean, professional and is in a great location. Ottoson Enterprises, Inc. - Dunedin, FL
