I'm very familiar with Heritage Springs. It's a retirement (over 55)/golfing community. Most people are from other parts of the country. Those personalities vary greatly from warm and friendly to 'don't set foot on my property'. There's a combination of villas and single family homes and they are fairly well built. There's activities to stay busy with if you like and there are restaurants and such close by.

My biggest concern would be to learn who your neighbors are and what they are like. I've always thought that the people around me make my experiences positive or negative.

Heritage Springs (<- click) is one of several "active adult" concept-communities built by Lennar in the early 2000s. They have a nice club house with lots of activities and a restaurant, 18 holes of golf, tennis, bocci, etc. Before building slowed, there were plans for another 9 holes. Heritage Springs is next to the world-renowned Fox Hollow Golf course and 15-20 minutes to Gulf Beaches. The entire area is still missing a lot of retail and necessary services, but a new hospital on Hwy 54 is coming soon. The only negative I've heard was related to the HOA and reported violations.

Default Heritage Springs

Thanks for the information. I'll remember the neighbor advice when I come house shopping in the winter.
