Hello all-
My husband and I are in Tampa right now checking out the area and intend on driving around areas to see if it is somewhere we want to live. We are staying on St Pete Beach so you know we are in love so far but plan to check out places like Apollo Beach and Riverview for sure. How are areas like Temple Terrace, Valrico, Arbor Green, areas around Downs Racetrack, Fiddlers Cove area? We would like somewhere safe and clean to live that is within a 40min commute to Tampa General. I am naming areas that currently have rental houses within our budget.
Thank you

Temple Terrace has a very different feel than Arbor Green. Arbor Green is a bit upscale, and the traffic will take you much longer than your 40 minutes. My husband works in downtown Tampa and we live in Tampa Palms (just south of I-75, off of Bruce B. Downs). It takes him 45 minutes and he leaves the house around 7:15.

Valrico is a nice area. Family oriented. It probably would take less than the 40 minutes you are looking for.

The homes in Temple Terrace are old and a bit run down, from what I have seen. I suppose there are nicer sections. I believe that area is more of the original Tampa area.

I would stick with Valrico, but have a look see at the other places too.

I don't know about Racetrack or Fiddlers Cove.

If you live in or near St. Pete, expect a longer commute than your 40 minutes.

I don't know too much about most of those areas since I have lived away for so long, but know people in Temple Terrace and have always thought that area was really beautiful and desirable. Commute probably 30-40 minutes depending on traffic.

If Temple Terrace, be sure to look East of 56th Street and north of Busch Blvd...the areas around the river are beautiful.
