So now that we live here, family and friends want to come and visit.
Our friend wants to come down in February for his birthday and have a relaxing on the beach celebration. He was originally talking Jamaica but why spend extra money when we've got beach atmosphere here.
I was wondering if anyone has any good suggestions for a nice rental that's directly (no driving) on the beach. I know there are plenty of hotels and such but that I can find, I'm thinking more like private rentals.
Any suggestions would be awesome!

Have you looked on VRBO dot com? Since you're already here, you could preview some places before your guests arrive.

Feb is a busy time though, lots of beach condos are already booked up, this is probably the height of the season. However you will find something I am sure tell them not to drag their feet.

Isn't it funny how people want to visit when you live at the beach?
I'd suggest VRBO and Homeaway...

Check out Indian Rocks Beach and Indian Shores, there are lots of good rentals along that stretch.

Redington Beach is really nice too. If your friend wants the feel of the islands then maybe Treasure Island at the Bilmar resort where Sloppy Joe's is located.
Welcome to Sloppy Joe's on The Beach, Treasure Island, Florida

There are plenty of individuals who rent and you are not paying for the 'add on' of commission that you will find at rental agencies. vrbo.com is def a good site with tons of places up and down the pinellas beachesbut as I said before, its season, so don't leave it too long to find somewhere. My own condo has been booked since before the summer from jan lst to mid april.
