Hi,

Is there a classified ad section JUST FOR TAMPA on the City Data Board? I posted something in the classified section but then I noticed people posting from NC and other states........HELP? does anyone know?

I have a few household items for sale and I did post them on Craigslist and Moms Like Me (the Tampa section)........but I really need to get them sold and I am trying to find out where else people place free ads?

Thank you,

Alex

It is my understanding that you can place items in the St Pete Times free as long as they don't go above a certain price. So, inexpensive items are places in the clasifieds free, not expensive items though. You might want to check into this.

Sorry.. as of now the only place to post for sale items is in the classified section of CD. If you need/want I can add Tampa to your classified ad.

Craigslist.com is still one of the most powerful "classified ads" on the web. Because there are no listing costs like E-bay, people seem to put any and everything on it. Talk about a cyber garage sale

Hi Nav, I know and I had a lot of success selling items while we lived in Orlando on it, however after we moved here and I tried to sell stuff people either low balled me and asked that I pretty much give the stuff away, I got spammed but some weird people and pretty much haven't been able to sell anything....my items were all under $100.... so, there isn't an excuse that the items were too expensive...

Good Algia, glad you could advertise them there. I's rather deal with people calling from the newspaper than from Craig's . I have had some bad experiences with Craig's...

Yeah, Craigslist is hit or miss. I've always had good luck and avoided the weirdos. There are a lot of people who make a career out of monitoring craigslist to find either free or very cheap things which they get and resell. Not only does it take from the people who really need it, but it's a crooked source of income since they're usually all cash deals and most likely not reported as income on their taxes.

You can also call The Tampa Tribune, they have a classifieds called Super Savers, you can place a 3 line ad for free. The item must be $500.00 or less. No plants, animals, etc.
