Handy in what way? Being able to drive a 50 mph and take a picture simultaneously?

Please god no...no more laws.

We already have a law that covers this. It's called reckless driving. If a cop sees someone swerving while driving, they can pull them over.

We don't need more laws.

Drove to Orlando the other morning on I-4 and notice several people texting while driving. At one time, the driver to my right and left were texting. What's the current law anyway?

Fact of the matter is there are plenty of distractions while draving. THE RADIO is one of them, so what are we going to take all radios out of cars? They even have vehicles that talk to you, as if music isn't distracting enough.
Point is people are still going to do it. As Our country becomes more innovative people grow upon trying new things and staying updated with technology. It will not change. Not no time soon anyway.

We're talking about using your hands to do something other than grip the steering wheel. Listening to music is no different than having a conversation in the car. And you're right ... people are still going to do it ... until, the fines are so substantial that a driver thinks twice about texting while driving. The real issue is that people feel entitled to text while driving irregardless of the effect on traffic or other drivers. And there will always be those who counter that they can text, drive, pick their nose, and steer with their feet so any preventative law would violate their rights.

FL is only one of a handful of states who haven't banned texting. The FL senate just voted NO again a few weeks ago.

Guess enough people haven't died.

Point is with driving as dangerous as it is now. ANY distraction that can be prevented, should be. But again that goes into, taking away the comforts and liking for people. We cant say "No Music, or No Talking While Driving".

Plus You can easily text at red lights, thats no different from turning the radio channel. The Law should be more like DRIVING WITH TWO hands, I mean whats the point of doing drivers tests where two hands are practiced if they won't enforce it? Or not looking both ways, using signals. The whole system is flaw.

Texting may be a useful tool but not behind the wheel of a moving vehicle. Driving is a privilege not a right to start with. Read the drivers handbook. Anything done while driving is subject to be denied just as drinking alcohol.
