Welcome to Tampa! There must be a lot of repressed anger/roid-rage in this area. A college student in the area might want to write their thesis on this very disturbing behavior.

In one of my past jobs I used to work for an agent/underwriter that sold Truckers Insurance.......you WOULD NOT BELIEVE what was on these people's MVR's (Motor Vehicle Record) I used to get chills knowing that these people are STILL ALLOWED to drive here!

This day and age, most phones come with a hands free kit. I'm all for banning cell phone use without one. Also- As far as GPS systems. What's wrong with finding a safe place to pull over and reset your system. Why do you have to do it while you're driving. There really is nothing so important that 1 extra minute from your day to pull over should stop you. You could save someones life. Maybe even yours.

Try telling the parent or widow of someone that was killed by a distracted driver that it's "stupid"

Today, I noticed I was surrounded by cell phoned drivers while driving down I-75. Doubt if the law enforcement can keep up with the violators -

We had this BAN in New York before I moved here and it is STRICTLY enforced for the younger drivers. My son and his friends reported getting pulled over many times for having a cell phone up to their ears.

You can still use your phone with a "hands-free", but if you don't have both of your hands on the steering wheel, or head up watching the road, you will be pulled over.

I LOVE IT! And it DOES save lives.

Must be a lot of half-brains out there - I do a lot of driving and see it every day. As long as we're living in the "me first, you don't matter" society, the texting and other inconsiderate driving habits will not stop ... until maybe they get that $350 ticket. Can't wait for this to pass ...

I don't understand that they want the police only to stop a driver who is txting if they commit another offense...Usually that other offense is when they CRASH!!!!

Before the crash they go slow, swirl a little but not much more that can cause the police to stop them...I never saw a person txting and speeding...so what the F is the point of making it this kind of offense.

Who is making these laws? People who never drive?

I get that driving is boring, BUT, the car is not a house, nor an office...the ONLY thing you should be doing at the wheel is driving and nothing else.

This so called "multitasking" is pure crap, and it ends in crashes...IF it is made known on large billboards, and people who are caught texting/on the phone are fined, eventually they'll get the message that the car is for driving not catching up with stuff that can and should wait.

I was suprised to learn that boys are no longer the more expensive to insure since girls seem to make more crashes due to putting up make-up and txt more than guys behind the wheel...
