Walking distance to Ray Jay? There is a Holiday Inn Express off Dale Mabry Hwy, a few blocks north of the stadium, and within a mile there is a Hilton and Residence Inn Marriott off Lois/Boy Scout Blvd, and the Rennasiance Intl Plaza.

Otherwise the Westshore district which is a few miles from Ray Jay is closest area with all brands of hotels.

^^Agreed. The Holiday Inn Express is the closest. It was renovated a couple of years ago and it's a lot nicer than it was previously. IMO, walking to the stadium from the hotel would be dangerous due to the high traffic and speed limit.

The Holiday Inn would be the only one within walking distance. It wouldn't be a pleasant walk, not due to distance, but because that area wasn't built for walkers. There is a Howard Johnson's and a Days Inn on Dale Mabry just south of Columbus, though I'm not sure how well-kept they are.

Tampa is not a walkable city! If you come here expecting to get around by foot you will be very disappointed. You will need to drive almost anywhere you go. There are also very few sidewalks. Pedestrians take their chances in Tampa.

I recommend staying at one of the hotels on Westshore Blvd between Kennedy and Boy Scout Rd (there are many good national brands) and take the $4 taxi ride to RayJay.
