We are having so much difficulty planning this next vacation - it's in 2 weeks. We want somewhere warm and we want something to do besides vegetate at the pool but we DO want a pool.

I remember many years ago - perhaps 30? - there was a hotel on the beach right at the causeway. It was owned by George Steinbrenner and there were sailboats and paddleboats, maybe rowboats also - for use by those staying there. I have no idea what the name is/was - I have no idea which causeway - and I have no idea if it's still there. But that is kind of what we are looking for.

Any ideas?

If you're remembering the Courtney Campbell Causeway (Hwy 60) in Tampa, there is a Best Western and at the end of Rocky Point is Sailport. There are much better beaches in the area than Ben T Davis.
