Actually, I heard nothing but bad things about Atomic from the get go. I did it simply because they were offering the tats for free. The artists they had available was one guy who just started (second day on the job, "but he spent the first day sleeping in the back room") or the other guy who was more worried about flirting with the underage girls running around then doing tattoos.

Now, as to decent shops, the Red Letter, 1208 (I think that's the name) both in Ybor have really nice work, and Hotbox in Brandon (behind the Dairy Queen) is a nice shop as well.

Save your money and pass on the tatoo. Great hair, skin, teeth, and fitness is the way to go! Having some ugly thing on your back so you look like a hood off a 70s Trans Am is not attractive.

I guess it's a good thing I got it to celebrate the owls I've been working with for seven years rather than to be attractive to you. I still love it.

I think its cool that you had the owl especially when you work with them. I just got my first tattoo of my Abyssinian(cat). The artist took over an hour to just mix the colors and then 3 more hours to complete it. Everyone that knows my cat can identify the tat as Rusty. Why I got such a big tattoo for my first, who knows...maybe midlife crisis, but it is very special because its Rusty.
