i am pissed because my car is freshly detailed.

If you are afraid of wind, hunker down. While all of you are taking sick days to rush around buying water, I will be going to work and conducting life as normal. I dont plan on being another victim of the recession. If I get stuck in the rain and 70 mph winds on the way home from work, I will deal with it.

Anytime there's a hurricane in the Gulf (Atlantic, too), we are on heightened alert. Weather professionals can estimate patterns, but it's not an exact science. Be prepared, use some common sense and hope for the best.

With all due respect I did say that even though statistically we were overdue by 2 years it really means nothing.

Here are the current spaghetti models.
Over the past few years the GFDL model has had the best accuracy.

It doesn't take a full blown Cat 3 or 5 to wreak havoc, just look at the no name storm of 93, this can be serious.
