Hey all:
My husband & I are considering moving from NE PA to florida. I really hate the weather, boredom, & food in PA. We are looking to be close to everything but not be in the city. Definitely need plenty of adult activities and quality restaurants. A friend told me Tampa area but I dont know?! I cant tell some of the good areas from the bad; they seemed mixed together.
I really can use any advice so that I can have a place to start looking.
Can you all help!!! Which areas in Florida could best suit our needs?

Thank you for your reponses.

If you have a job.. then Tampa has plenty of areas that meet your requirements. Check out New Tampa, Wesley Chapel, Lutz, Land O Lakes, Trinity, Odessa, WestChase, Citrus Park, Riverview, Brandon, Valrico.. just to name a few on east side of the bay

Depends on what you want. I would not want to commute from one of the suburbs. The South Howard (SoHo) area or Bayshore area tend to have more to do and short commutes. I would look there. The prices of housing tend to be higher, however.

I agree with you.. Depending on where your job is located makes a big difference in commute time. If I worked downtown or Westshore area I would live in S. Tampa if I could afford it.

You don't want to live in Wesley Chapel and work in St. Pete.. I got the impression they don't have a job yet but are just looking

^^ So true. MDT40, you need to understand that Tampa as a city is relatively small and the county (Hillsborough) has over 1000 square miles. The St. Pete/Clearwater county (Pinellas) area will add another ~300 square miles. It is best to start first with your employer's location and search around that geographic area. If you will tell us your employer's general area, we can give you better responses.

I need help please. I had originally thought that I was relocating to Tampa but it looks like it will be Brooksville. Looks like that's 40 miles away. Is there a good place to live between Tampa and Brooksville.

There are some nice things in Spring Hill, which is not too far from either place.
