I have been considering relocating to Dunedin, however, during my research I have come across a lot of news about the skyrocketing costs of homeowner's insurance. Nowhere can I find a ballpark figure of an average premium. Could anyone out there give me just a ballpark estimate of an average homeowner's premium for say a 2 bedroom block house in downtown Dunedin?

Thanks for any help at all!

Renee

I don't know that anyone really can. So much goes into it - distance from the water, wood frame, crawlspace, hurricane zone - maybe you can contact Citizens directly? (most private insurers are leaving the state...Dunedin is close to water so you might have to go with Citizens)

I would say at least 3-4k not including Flood. Dunedin is right on the water and 3-4k is what we paid in Palm Harbor which is just up the road.
