Hello,,
I might be moving for a new job in Tampa,, specifically the job is just south of the Tampa INTL airport on Cypress st...

I would not mind a 30-40 minute one way commute to work, nothing really more than that,,

The most important thing I need to research is what public middle and high school is best within that radius.. I have a 12yr old that is slightly ADHD still and Dyslexic,, although this year in 7th grade has been her best, getting all A's & B's now,, and she finally seems to be able to keep up with her work and is in mostly reg ed classes, only special ed is the math and language arts, but she is really doing amazing..

I am looking for an area to live that is safe obviously and since I am from the Chicago suburbs, I know nothing at all about florida,, the good school is my main concern, from there, I will look for housing,,

I am confused how the school assignments go,, I heard you don't get to go to a school simply because you live close to it,, how does this work??

What counties would be best to live in?? I would be looking at homes in the low 200K range.. I could afford more, but don't want to pay more,,

Since the office I could be relocating to is right near I-275,, would it be better to live over in the St. Pete's area??

Also a neighborhood that is GLBT friendly would be good as well,, those of you in the family would understand about that....

if you can afford a private school for your daughter, check out Tampa Day School. ADHD is their specialty. "One Child at a Time" is what they live by. Goes through 8th grade, but they do have a small high school. They're in the Citrus Park/Carrollwood area north of downtown.
