Does anyone know of any nice restaurants open on Christmas day in the Tampa/St. Pete/Clearwater area? Usually they print a list somewhere in the Times or the Tribune but I haven't seen anything this year.

Think Asian. They're usually open, and filled with Jews, Pagans, atheists, and anyone else for whom December 25th is not irretrievably linked to turkey and ham.

Marchands Bar & Grill - A Modern Classic is at the Vinoy Hotel & Resort in downtown St. Petersburg - open and have often enjoyed Christmas dinner there but you must make a reservation.

These might be more casual than you're looking for, but the Tick Tock Diner on 4th St. in St. Petersburg and Wildwood BBQ on Gulf Blvd in St. Pete Beach are scheduled to be open Christmas Day. I had Christmas dinner at the Pasadena Steak House in South Pasadena a few years ago, so I imagine they are open this year also.
