Which way would you recommend going from Holiday to Walt Disney World on a weekday early morning. Google gave two options - 54 to Zephyrhills then 39 down to I-4......or......54 to I-75 down to I-4. Would I-75 be more congested than 39? I'd like to avoid as much rush hour traffic as possible. Thank you.

I'd probably take 54 to 75 to 4 because that's more familiar to me, but the intersection of 75 and 4 is atrocious!

"but the intersection of 75 and 4 is atrocious!"

in what way? it is an exit only lane? I take 54 to 75 to 4 regularly to go to Orlando at different times of day and I don't see any issues with it?! the only issue is on my way back usually if I take 75 from I-4 in the pm (5,6) when 75 is usually a parking lot....and it goes bumper to bumper all the way to 54......

I don't know how far south in Holiday you are but I take SR 50 straight across and then zip down the turnpike.

Takes me about 1 hr and 15 minutes. You would have to add your time from Holiday to SR 50.

It used to take me almost 2 hrs from Clearwater taking I4.

Default Disney

I usually take 50 across to 27 and zip right into Disney...have done it in about 1 hr 10 mins.

Thank you - I think 50 sounds good. One more question though - Songbird mentioned 27 and Mike Peterson said "the turnpike" - are these the same thing?

The turnpike and 27 are two completely different roads..they pass each other around north of Clermont. The Turnpike is a toll rd, 27 is not and it has a million stop lights very slow, so does 50....we get to Disney in less than an hour sometimes taking 54 to 75 to I-4....

Default Holiday to Sarasota

Thank you for your help on getting to Disney. Now I have another question. How bad is FL-55/US-19 S??? We want to go to Sarasota one day - would taking 54 over to 589 down to I-275 be better than taking 19 for 25 miles or so down to I-275? Is 19 just a regular street with stop lights? If so I'm thinking it might take a long time. Thank you.

19 is pretty much a regular street. It's awful in Pasco/North Pinellas, but once you hit Countryside Mall, 19 becomes like a freeway, with traffic lights only at the offramps. This freeway section ends near Gandy and 19 becomes a regular street, though without the same massive intersections like North Pinellas.

ferret111:

I looked up Countryside Mall on Google and it looks like it would be around 12 miles from where I'd be starting to Countryside Mall which is where you said it would be good. So.....do you think the 12 miles would be awful? We will be there for the month of March - have never been to this area before so don't know where anything is.

Thank you.

Frances
