Welllll, I rather like walking Upham Beach to the Don and back. But I have no beach since I'm in the western 'burbs of Chicago.

Sand Key just south of Cl B is nice but all you can do is walk the beach (but that's ok by me - I always see something cool).

I'd live on any of the beaches, depending on what I could afford, but I think I'd go with technically non-beach South Pasadena if I could.

South Pasadena has to be the most "forgotten" of the Pinellas cities, moreso than even Kenneth City or Belleair Shore. I don't think many people realize it's a separate city; they probably think it's just part of St. Petersburg.

I like South Pasadena. It's location is great: St. Pete Beach is five minutes away, you have a straight shot into Downtown St. Pete, and a straight shot into Central Pinellas. However, there aren't very many single homes and the city certainly leans one way age-wise. Wikipedia says the median age is like 70 something.
