My husband is in the process of negotiations with a firm in the Tampa area. I know nothing about the area, and need advice about which areas to look in and what areas to stay away from, and why.
We will be renting for the first year as I dont want to buy and find out we arent happy with the area. We will pay up to 2,000.00 a month for rent.
These are my criteria for any location :
GOOD area ( we have a 10 year old son )
GOOD schools ( are ALL of Florida's schools bad ? )
If schools are not ideal, any recommendations for private schools ?
Newer neighborhood ( less than 5 years )
Ideally a gated community

We were looking in Spring Hill, and I read several negative comments, could someone elaborate on that ? Also, Brooksville, Land O Lakes, Wesley Chapel, and surrounding areas.

All I really care about is a safe neighborhood with good schools for our son. health care is a issue for us as well. My son has asthma and I have several health related issues.

The more I look, the more confused I become !! If anyone can help me sort all this out, I would be eternally grateful !!!

Where in the Tampa area will your husband be working? Traffic is really bad in the area, so you want to make sure you move to a location with a reasonable commute.

Where in MI do you live? I'm originally from Highland, MI
