What particular type of crime are you looking for statistics? Hoimicide? Assault? Burglary?

The city of tampa website has a great crime section.
The most important ones to me are 1)Robbery 2)Murder 3)Burglary and 4)assault. I'm looking for stats on the entire county for the whole year, not just one week entries.

Are most murders drug or domestic related everywhere? They say that in Baltimore that's how most of the murders are, but they have one of the highest murders rates in America. And if you're going to live among people that live that life you're bound to know them anyway.

Reduction in violent crime is a nationwide trend - not just Tampa. There are probably all kinds of factors involved - I bet the freakonomics blog has had a thing or two to say on the subject.

My guess is that it's the ritalin. Most crimes are committed by males in their teens and early 20s. With the massive increase in the drugging of children to make them easily manageable (and the coincident use of many of those drugs by many kids to get high) you've got a recipe for much more complacent teens. Plus, all those drugs are legal or at least semi-legal (get your dose from a friend who has a prescription and its paid for by health insurance to boot) so no need to steal to fund the habit.

i never suggested it was right or wrong, it's just the approach that i take. all i'm suggesting is that there are other people like me.

OT a bit, but please indulge. Want to learn the lowdown before we arrive. Is it true that FL has one of the highest state rates for wrongful death penalty convictions? I remember hearing something about this when an innocent man was released after 30 some years at Christmas time.

Given, one is way too many but I think they said like 25 exonerees suffered on account of state wrongs.

We've got no particular reason to worry.... but sounds like it could be anyone's brother or sister who could be done wrong by the state for the sake of prosecutions.

Hopefully its a real decrease and not a decrease in arrests , which would appear to make it seem like less crime.

I will admit this, although I dont like to. I was burglarized on 1/16 in the middle of the afternoon. These ****ing scumbags in the ghetto are branching out the nice suburbs. It's unfortunate. Also the HCSO really does not seem to give a ****. Took the deputy a week to call me back (I was out of town when it happened).

Thats what a cop told me when i was trying to find a good area to move to. He said the crime is prettymuch all spread out.

How do you know it was someone from the ghetto and not someone from your nice suburb or perhaps one of the other nearby nice suburbs?
