I may have a job in St Petersburg on 34th St.

Looking to possibly rent a 3 or 4 bedroom home in a nice area for kids. ( have a 10 and 8 year old )

We LOVE boating/fishing/beach and want to be close to a marina.

Also want a pool.

Is Clearwater to far a commute?

Can spend $1,000 to $1,300 a month for rent.

Opinions from other EMPLOYED families that live in the area... what do you think???

We are moving from Delaware.

Any help is appreciated.

$1300 plus is more likely if you want a good area, with good schools, and a pool close to water/marina.
I am thinking Seminole, there is a kind of marina by Indian Rocks Beach(by Holiday Inn Express) not like the Dunedin or St Pete area but beach too. Nice for families. You can commute to 34th street in about 20-25 mins depending on which bit you work on. I drive from my home to Parkside Mall in 15-20 mins. on US19/34th st. Nr 70th Ave. Seminole is a safe environment, clean, moderate to high income families live there, tidy neighborhoods and local shopping. I think you would like this. If public schools are important, then you must consider your neighborhoods. East Lake/Palm Harbor/Countryside are good for schools, but the drive is a bit longer. Areas of St Pete around downtown may have some housing in your price range and there are lovely areas, but schools are sketchy. If you are planning to buy eventually this is a major factor. Check on Craigs list for housing and kijiji.com. If you are coming down to preview figure out from here/other information places which areas you want to consider, then drive them. Lots of homes are to rent, but are not necessarily advertising when you are looking. You could post a wanted ad too. see what comes up. Good luck to you if you make the move, we love it here - moved 11 years ago.

Thanks.

It seems to me that home prices are a bit higher in this area. I was looking across the state in the Indian River area and there was alot more inventory and lots more homes with pools at lower costs.

Bigger population, more jobs here and I think maybe Indian River area could be suffering more from overbuild/development with no firm basis for such in the past fewyears, hence the availability and prices.

Where along 34th st? (Streets run north south in this county) So, you can be anywhere in St. Pete. Remember that closer to downtown puts you on the Bay side, which is longer to the Gulf. Heading west can put your marina on the intracoastal. Might want to look into Gulfport/Pasadena. Generally, St. Pete is too far in terms of traffic to Clearwater.

ive lived in seminole area my whole live 35 plus years. i work in st.pete on 34th street at the post office. it take me about 17 minutes each way. i live less than a mile from the beach ( maderia beach) there are plenty of homes under 1300 with what you seek.

shoot me an instant message if you want more detailed info. just stay away from anything with a letter S, meaning SOUTH. if it says SOUTH, just keep looking for sumthing else.
