Does anyone live in a family friendly neighborhood outside of Tampa? I have heard people mention Lutz or Springhill. Does anyone have any opinions about that area? We are looking for an area that is not a retirement area or snowbird attraction. We have 2 small kids and would like to find a community with other kids and families. My husband would work in Tampa and we would be looking for Catholic schools

Thank you for your opinions

Spring Hill is definitely a "snowbird attraction", as you put it. Lots of retirees who live there year round, as well. Also a very long commute to and from Tampa.

Lutz is much closer, and more in tune with a young family's needs.

I would also recommend looking into Westchase, Carrollwood, Citrus Park, Oldsmar, some parts of Town N Country, and even out to Brandon or Riverview depending upon where in Tampa your husband will be working. All of these are family areas with access to Catholic schools.

Good luck!

You don't want Spring Hill if you are going to work in Tampa. The commute is too far. Lutz would be a much better choice. Wesley Chapel is also a nice growing area. Look at Trinity area too.
