Hi everyone - I've read many of the threads on here and it seems like there is some great information out there to be told. It'd be great if you could help me out too!

I'm a single 24-year old guy currently living in Minneapolis, but would like to move down to the area. I have lived in the Midwest all of my life and need a change. I have visited St. Pete Beach the past two years and also went to Clearwater a few months ago. My cousin used to live in the area for 4 years and my uncle and aunt recently bought a condo in South Pasedena. They'll be living there for about six months out of the year. I really like the whole area and need some guidance on where to live, how much I should expect rent to be, etc.

Ideally, I would be transferred from my company here to an office we have in Oldsmar. I know that Oldsmar is on the northern fringe of the area, and I would like to have no further than a 20-30 minute ride to work each day. So I'm trying to narrow down my search of where to live. So far I'm thinking of Tampa, St. Pete, Clearwater, Largo, and Dunedin. Can anyone out there give me the pluses/minuses of each city and some other ones I should consider? I'm willing to pay about $600-$800 for rent and would like to be about a 10-15 minute drive to the gulf. I'm really in the process of gathering information at this point (especially on what people are like down there and how many singles in their 20s are there), so any info would be great. Rent, nightlife, singles scene, people's personalities, and other information of that sort would be great. I know I have a lot of questions, so thanks in advance everyone!

Why not look in Oldsmar? It is only 10/15 min. from Dunedin Causeway and closer to the gulf than Tampa.
Also Safety Harbor and Palm Harbor both border Oldsmar. You can easily access the gulf from any of these areas with virtually no commute time.

Yes, Tampa also borders Oldsmar, but I haven't heard much good about the rentals that would probably be in your price range in that area.

Good suggestions. I want to somewhat "split" the distance between St. Pete Beac and Oldsmar. Safety Harbor looks like it would be a good spot. I'd maybe even be willing to pay $850-$900.

Any more help people?? I could really use it!!! PLEASE!!
