2. Are there a lor of FAMILY ORIENTED neighborhoods where all the neighbors get together and have little parties, Halloween parties with the kids etc?
3. How many northeners are there year round?
4. Christian population vs Jewish population.( we live in a very heavily populated Catholic area in Louisiana now and Lent is everywhere on menus here to accommadate them-do they do that there?)
5. Muscial theatre classes and gymnastics classes for 7 year old children?
6. heard the public schools are bad-here too! How hard is it to get a child into a private school? Are there religious private schools?
7.How friendly are the people in thoae areas? Eye contact when at stores or just look down with unfriendliness?

I know some of these questions are weird, but we live in a great area and are thinking of moving back to Florida to be closer to family. The only negative thing about where we live is that we are far from family. Now, we have great friends and neighbors but that is not the same. Any other information would be great. We had checked out Palm Harbor 5 years ago before we moved here instead and liked it then-I wonder how much it has changed.....

Thanks in advance
Hello! I LOVE Palm Harbor! I grew up there and still live close, so I thought I could be helpful.

1. I agree with the poster that said all ages of people live in Palm Harbor. Though there are communities designated for seniors 55+.
2. I think most neighborhoods are family friendly... communities near Alderman Rd., Nebraska Ave., Tampa Rd., etc. are great places to check out. Also, East Lake is a very nice, affluent part of Palm Harbor that is nice.
3. There are "northerners" here that only stay in the winter months, AKA SNOW BIRDS, but you don't notice them that much. You will notice increased traffic when they are here.
4. I am Catholic and there are some great churches here (I'm assuming you're Christian, but don't know for sure). I have not noticed any special menus for lent. There is a good mix of different religions in PH.
5. I don't know about musical theatre, but I did gymnastics at Gemini in Oldsmar when I was around that age. I think they are still open, but I dont know for sure.
6. As a product of the PUBLIC school system in PH, I would say that there are some great schools. I went to Sutherland Elem., Palm Harbor Middle and Palm Harbor University High School. There are some schools I would stay away from though... but I don't want to offend anyone by listing them! LOL. I only know of the Catholic Private Schools in the area and have friends that attended them.
7. I think people in PH are pretty friendly! I LOVE Palm Harbor. I think it was a great place to grow up and it would be a great place to raise a family.

Hope this helps!

-Shannon

Shannon,

Thanks for the positive feedback. It is always hard to make a change, but we may need to do this move within the next year or so. I am Christian, you were correct! Appreciate all you did as far as answering my silly questions! Glad you love it there!
