Hey all, I'm a 23 year old graduating from college in Cleveland, OH and secured a job in Tampa. My g/f is moving down with me, she's an Occupational Therapist looking for a position with a Hospital. I was hoping you all might be able to give me some advice on the move...

1.) She would really love to live on the beach. We are looking for rentals for the time being. My job will have me driving all over, so location isn't a big deal for me. Where would be some good apartment/townhouses/condos along the gulf beach? Are there any at all?

2.) What are the better hospitals to work for? Both from a quality of care stand point and employee experience. I want her to wind up with some place she'll really enjoy.

3.) What's a good place/way to meet young professionals like ourselves? Not knowing anyone in FL is a little intimidating. We were thinking about joining club sports. Have any locations/suggestions to look into?

The Gulf beaches extend from St. Pete Beach in the south and all the way up to Dunedin in the north. It mostly depends on what you're looking for, as different beach towns have somewhat distinct personalities. Clearwater beach is more touristy and developed and has more "stuff" going on. St. Pete Beach and Pass-A-Grille will be more quiet and secluded.

There are plenty of rentals all along the Gulf beaches but not a lot of actual apartment complexes. Most likely you will wind up renting a condo from a private owner. Check out some listings to get a better idea.

St. Pete Beach is just over the bridge from Palms of Pasadena Hospital. Madeira Beach is close to the VA and St. Pete (General?) hospitals.

So we'd have more options with condos rather than appartments.. ok , i'll check into that.

Anyone have any info as to which hospitals, if any, are hiring now?

1) I really like the beach villages of Sunset Beach(on Treasure Island), Indian Shores and Indian Rocks beaches.

3) Check meetup.com there are groups for ANY interest, great way to meet like people if you are new to the area, also volunteering, church, the gym...
