Hi everyone. I have read through all the moving/traffic threads and haven't found the specific answers I am seeking. Hoping the good CD people here can help.

We currently reside in Louisville, Kentucky and anticipate moving to Tampa in the next 6 months. I will be working for the feds in downtown Tampa and looking for suggestions on nice areas where we should look for an apartment. After having lived in Wash DC and Atlanta, I expect normal rush hour traffic but am hoping to find a commute of 30 minutes or less. Any communities you might suggest?

My husband and I are young professionals planning on having a family in the next year or so. We want to rent an apartment for a year or two until we've have a chance to really learn the area. We're looking for a nice area that offers safe two-bedroom apartments with nice amenities and add-ons (pool, gym, etc) for about 850-1000/month. We're not into the bar scene, but do enjoy exploring non-chain restaurants. We're interested in finding a community that has the normal conveniences nearby (Publix, Target, dry cleaners) but isn't overloaded with traffic congestion yet still offers a decent commute to downtown. Can this be found in Tampa???

Can you all suggest areas to look or areas to definitely avoid? Any and all helps is greatly appreciated. We can't wait to get there.
