Probably not. If I were a lender in West Pasco I would require flood insurance without a doubt. But with those houses going as cheap as you quote, who needs mortgage and insurance?

One reason i have no Ins. I could buy another house in 5 years time with what Ins would cost me.

I dont know where you get your insurance information from, but it seems to be over inflated to say the least. I had a friend pull a Citizens quote for insurance on a random address in Westport. For 6310 Westport Drive the premium is $1,230.

Yep. Thanks for posting Spring Hillian. That is what I was talking about when I mentioned 100 to 150 per month. If you are in the higher flood zone area (based on the map) it would be required, and if you want sinkhold coverage, you can probably multiply that number by a factor of 4.

I don't see how when both people that live next to my house pay over 3K a year not including flood Ins.

Some ins. companies go by credit scores as well and previous filed claims so that may be the difference and keep in mind that many people don't tell the entire story...

The original claim of CHASLS2 of 4k for 30K house appears to me high.

But it is also important to note that the quote that Spring Hillian put out has no sinkhole coverage at all and beside a wind mitigation discount of $855 is way high. I don't think they will give that when one actually applies.

If one include the sinkhole coverage for that area and a lower windstorm mitigation, I can easily see 2 to 3K for that house, which is 170K in value, which isn't exactly cheap.
