Hello....would really appreciate any info ! For medical reasons we need to relocate near the beach , sun and saltwater neeed ! We have a first grader and finding a good school , and low crime area is a major concern. Hubby will need to commute to Tampa , so no more than a 45 mile drive if possible. Not crazy about more than 50k population , and would like a small town atmosphere. Planning a trip to FLA in May and need to narrow down the search before arrival !

Look in Oldsmar, where there are some houses near the water and close to Mobbly Bayou Park. Also in Dunedin, next to Honeymoon park, fabulous beach.

I agree Oldsmar is a great area. You are close to the bay but not a lot of traffic. You are not that far from Tampa, Clearwater or Dunedin

The traffic into downtown TPA is going to be heavy in the morning and afternoon , as ppl who work there go to work from other parts of the bay area. So that will depend on your time to go to work.

Its not really a town, Seminole is right by the beaches of Indian Rocks and Indian Shores. Very low crime, very family orientated, very good schools and many homes are near to the beach (within 3/4 mins in a car or five/ten min bike ride) and out of flood zone too! It has its own mall/movies/parks (several)/hospitals nearby/lots of shopping facilities, so good for growing families. I would recommend this. Your drive to tampa in a.m. would be around the 45 mark.
