Yeah I'm doing my own personal research for my own personal safety...just so I know what's up in every area...crime in tampa seems kind of random a lot of the time so I am wondering where it really takes palce.

I wish there was a place that shows stats properly. Meaning I just want to hear about random violence, not personal violence. I would much rather live in a city where there were 100 murders and all of them are personal quarrels, domestic or otherwise then one with 20 and all random killings.

Exactly...it seems to me like a lot of the murders in the bay area are random and I would like to see a list of every murder to find out if that's true or not.

These statistics were from 2006.
It's bad. The rich parts of Tampa are fine but 90% of the rest of Tampa is drug dealer heaven.

Where are the rich areas of Tampa anyway? From what I know just about everything from Ybor east all the way to Plant City is bad, the area north of university of tampa is bad, ybor north to fowler is all supposed to be bad, I've heard town n country is bad, and the area around dale mabry south to kennedy is supposed to be bad as well. The only parts I know are decent are temple terrace east of 56th, carrollwood, and south tampa south of kennedy?

All that said, the city itselfs crime rate isn't too high compared to every other city in florida and even in the US as a whole. The citys crime rate is actually a lot lower than hillsborough county's crime rate

East Tampa is pretty rough neck as is Riverview. The Rich parts are Danashores, or most any place on the water, like the Westshore area. Town&country is about 80% spanish and full of crime as is most of Tampa minus the rich parts. Lutz is pretty nice in the north Tampa area.
