Will be relocating to the area in August. I am wondering where to "settle" We will have the luxury of looking around for a while before we "settle".
Any info on short term (furnished?) rentals? We will need a home base but want the flexibility to get out of any leases in the event we choose to move to other locations. There are 4 of us, ladies from 21yrs to 75yrs. I have heard lots of good things about St. Petersburg area but am afraid it will be too congested. We would like to be close to the beach areas. I also hear a lot about the Dunedin area. I am not afraid of a commute but too much traffic congestion will freak out Mom.
Also - any info about the North Ft. Meyers area or further South? I hear it is more expensive the further South you go.
HELP!
Need: Short term rental - preferrably furnished
Central location to start search -
Any & all info welcome to help make a plan....

I'm not from the area and won't even be there until late this summer, BUT from what others have said on the forum, you can omit Ft. Myers. Many posters also don't recommend going south of the Tampa area.

We're still keeping our eyes on the St. Pete area and I'm still waiting to hear negatives about it. So far, there has only been positive things being said about it. While you're waiting for a local to reply, you may want to do a "search" on things already posted here. Just go to near the top of the page and click on "SEARCH". Type in those areas and you can read a lot about them.
