"I'm a grown man of 36!"

Yet you still live with your parents and are petty enough to resent something that brings joy to your father. 36, Ok. Grown Man.......questionable.

Sounds like your Dad and I would be the best of friends. I do the same thing but I'm a Yankee fan. As for the poster, I suggest that you step away from the tofu, cook a juicy steak on the grill, grab a beer and spend sometime with the old man.

Someday your father will be gone and you'll wish he were around with his minor annoyances.

Then he drags me into it, referring to the team as "We", "Us", "Our" pitcher etc. I just try to nod along with him. I'm not a fan of baseball. I don't even like the sounds of the game, like the wooden bat striking the ball or the catcher's mitt when the ball lands in it. Then there's that dumb organ they play. But what's up with that announcers voice? He sounds like he has a cold and his "S''s sound more like a "Sh". Are these old fashioned sounds supposed to give me the warm and fuzzies? I'd like to tell my dad how I feel about the Rays and this city in general. But I'm too scared to. Can you imagine that, I'm a grown man of 36!
Choke yourself

Wow. So many rather insensitive over reactions to the op who did nothing but relate a short story about a father and a son with different cultural appetites. Such unsportsmanship-like behavior from such sports fans.

What's the difference between fan mentality and mob mentality? Geeeze, give the kid a break.

Oh grow up. It's a phrase, not a treatise. I'm 53 and still a kid. And if you don't believe that, keep nitpicking me and I'll egg your house. Nya Nya.

Kid? He's 36 and lives at home and doesn't like his dad's enjoyment/passion with baseball. Can't agree with you on this one.
